These codes help determine developmental approriateness, not jst a Lexile score for text.

AD: Adult directed (Picture boks to read aloud)

NC: Non-conforming (Doesnot match interest level)

HL: High-interest, Low-readability (Reluctant teens)

IG Illustrated Guide (Indenpendent pieces like encyclopedias)

GN: Graphic novel (Speech bubbles)

BR Beginning Reading (Emergent reader)

NP  Non prose (Poems, plays, songs, alphabet books)
