Statistics - National
- Statistical Abstract of the United States Online EditionEWU subscription database. Over 1500 tables of statistics gathered from all federal agencies and other organizations. Sources are at the bottom of each table, so if you cannot find exactly the information sought, at least you should be able to find out what agency will collect statistics on that particular issue.
- ProQuest Statistical DataSetsEWU subscription database. Contains the current Statistical Abstract (the default), and Statistical DataSets (click "Related Subscriptions" at the top of the page). With Statistical DataSets, you can scan the contents of the collection, select subjects and variables of interest, and view your data in side-by-side tables and charts. The basic module has more than 5,500 indicators.
- FedStatsThe federal government's centralized source for finding statistics online. Browse an A to Z subject list, or perform a keyword search (of Census products only); also provides links to the agencies' web sites
- Data.govThe purpose of Data.gov is to increase public access to high value, machine readable datasets generated by the Executive Branch of the Federal Government. Data.gov increases the ability of the public to easily find, download, and use datasets that are generated and held by the Federal Government. Data.gov provides descriptions of the Federal datasets (metadata), information about how to access the datasets, and tools that leverage government datasets.
- Historical Statistics of the United StatesEWU subscription database for national and state-level statistics from colonial times to 2000. You may download data into Excel or view/print data in graphic format.
- Statistical Abstract of the United States (1878 - 2012; in print GovDoc Stacks C3.134 1901 - 2012)A major compilation published annually by the Census Bureau, with over 1500 tables of statistics gathered from all agencies and other organizations.
