Where are the items put on reserve by my professor located?

A list of reserve materials can be retrieved through the EWU Library Catalog by instructor name or course name.

  • At Riverpoint, all reserve materials are kept at the Circulation Desk.
  • In JFK Library, Books and print articles placed on reserve are located at the Circulation Desk on the Main Level. Videos on reserve are placed at the Lower Level Services Desk. 

You will need to show your EagleCard to check them out. Books and articles normally check out for 2 hours, while videos normally check out for 24 hours.

Where are the books located?

JFK Book Stacks materials that begin with the call numbers A through Q are located on the upper level; R through Z are located on the lower level. Call numbers can be found by looking up the title in the EWU Library Catalog. Also, we suggest you pick up a map to determine the exact shelf location for the call number.

Where are the videos located?

At JFK Library, videos (DVD, Blu-ray and VHS) are housed on the lower level. They may be checked out for one week.

Where are the journals in paper located?

Print journals and magazines are located on the main level of JFK Library. They are arranged by call number, not alphabetically. Call numbers can be found by looking up the journal in the EWU Library Catalog. Also, we suggest you pick up a map to determine the exact shelf location for the call number.

Where are the newspapers located?

Recent editions of newspapers are on the main level of JFK Library, to the left as you are facing the Reference Desk. The library subscribes to 21 local, regional and national newspapers, from the Cheney Free Press to the Washington Post.

Alternatively, you can read articles from hundreds of newspapers in the library’s subscription databases.

Where are government documents located?

The print collection of federal government documents is found on the lower level of JFK Library in the compact shelving. Those documents on microfiche are also downstairs, in the microfiche cabinets. Also, the vast majority of recent federal government documents may be found online. See Find Government Information for more information.

Where are the maps located?

Maps are located on the lower level of JFK Library, near the Government Documents collection.

Where are the CDs located?

CDs are housed on the lower level of JFK Library. They may be checked out for 6 weeks with no renewals.

Where are the music scores located?

Scores are housed on the lower level of JFK Library near the main elevator. They may be checked out for 6 weeks with 0 renewals.

Where are the children's books located?

They are housed in the Curriculum Center, on the lower level of JFK Library past the Lower Level Services Desk. They circulate the same as books (6 weeks/1 renewal.)
