100 Years of ASEWU: Eastern's 5th Annual Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon

Introduction

Wednesday, February 26
10:00am to 3:00pm (drop-in event)
Lobby of the JFK Library

The EWU Libraries and Learning Commons welcome you to WIKI in our 5th Annual Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon:  For the Students, By the Students: 100 Years of Self-Governance through ASEWU.

We continue our annual tradition of gathering students, faculty, staff, and community members to add important information about local subjects to Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia.  This year we’ll chronicle the formation and growth of the Associated Students of EWU (ASEWU), our student governing body.  Drop by the JFK Library Alcove on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to participate in this open-house styled research and writing activity.

The goals of this event are:

  • Create a thorough, authoritative, and high quality Wikipedia page about The Associated Students of EWU
  • Learn about the history of Eastern Washington University and the important role that ASEWU has played in building this institution
  • Learn about Wikipedia: how to edit it, how articles are created, what makes a good article
