Below are three recommended databases to search, with pros/cons.

Anthropology Plus (EBSCOhost) This link opens in a new windowIndexes journal articles, reports, and commentaries for anthropology, archaeology, and related research back to the 19th century.
Pros: Comprehensive database for anthropology except for books.
Cons: Does not have a lot of full-text articles. -
JSTOR This link opens in a new windowAround 200 anthropology and archaeology journals, along with thousands of journals covering virtually all subjects, from the first issue up to 3-5 years ago.
Pros: Full-text articles from important anthropology journals, back to the first issue. Can search using specific keywords. Use the Search Within Results on the left to add more keywords to existing results.
Cons: Only around 200 journals. Most of the results aren't going to be relevant, because your keywords were just mentioned in passing. You can stop scrolling once you encounter the first few that aren't relevant, because the relevance ranking is based on the frequency of the keywords. -
EWU Library Catalog This link opens in a new windowAlong with books, the EWU Library Catalog has records for millions of articles. For scholarly articles, click Peer Reviewed Journals on the left side. The default is to what we should have available full text online. To expand to more articles, click the box Include results with no full text in the upper left corner.
Pros: Easy way to search for scholarly articles we should have from all of our databases.
Cons: Not all the results will be relevant. The Subject Terms on the left side are sometimes helpful in narrowing the results, and other times too vague.
