The President’s Faculty Committee on Student Success is a faculty committee to assess and make recommendations concerning areas that are encouraging students to choose EWU and stay enrolled as well as any hurdles that discourage students or delay their paths to graduation. Areas of focus will be curriculum, teaching modality, departmental or University policies and practices, campus climate, community engagement, undergraduate research, and national trends.
As part of the process, the Committee will have access to enrollment- and retention-related data. Committee members will interview students and, possibly, high school counsellors and others who have information related to students’ decision-making and success. As needed, committee members will interact with other campus groups and committees.
Each Action Team (AT) is responsible for prioritizing initiatives and activities in support of the strategic priority. Each team will dedicate attention and effort to improve desired outcomes and meet aligned goals and metrics for the priority.
"Implement effective, research-based strategies, providing high-quality instruction and student support, through a variety of services, and resulting in timely degree completion by graduates who are prepared for the workforce or for continued study in graduate and/or professional programs."
"The intent of the SSSP is to provide a sustainable institutional-level framework around student success which sets campus-wide goals and provides an intentional and collaborative plan for achieving them."
