Welcome, EWU Education alumni (and those of you about to be alumni)! The goal of this guide is to give you good access in one place to a lot of resources that you can access freely, once your access to many of our subscription resources is gone. I've got information below about your ability to continue using the materials in our Curriculum Center, and the tabs on the left take you to other kinds of free material. Remember, too, that my contact info box on any of these pages is a resource still available to you -- I field questions from alumni all year long, and am happy to continue helping you as you go out to be Eastern in the world. Let me know, too, if you know of any great free resources for teachers that you think I should link to from this guide: I always appreciate suggestions!
Alumni in the Cheney/Spokane area may receive "Community User" status for free
(The text below is copied from https://www.ewu.edu/library/request-and-borrow/ which will have the most up-to-date information about borrowing privileges for community users.)
With appropriate identification, residents of the Cheney/Spokane area who are 18 years of age or older may check out most materials on the same basis as EWU students and staff. Individual students, 12 through 17 years of age may, with the signature of their parent or guardian, check out most materials on the same basis as EWU students and staff.* When area K-12 classes come to use the Libraries with their teacher, the Libraries will check out most materials on the same basis as EWU students on a card issued to the school; the principal or school librarian is the responsible party for these materials.
*Please note recalls may not be facilitated for community members, schools, or non-EWU students.
If you need any assistance arranging Community User borrowing, feel free to contact James, your Education Librarian (my information is in this guide, on the left). The Library Catalog, linked below, is freely accessible, and you can use it to identify the materials you may wish to borrow.
