Requesting Materials from Other Libraries

Use the EWU Library Catalog to search and request items using the Summit system (a group of academic libraries in the Pacific Northwest).

Browsing the Art Books in the Library

If you are the type who likes to browse, here is the outline for the general Library of Congress call numbers for art and photography.

All the print books are located on the JFK Upper Level, including the oversized books.

  • N = Visual arts (general)
  • N5300-7418 = Art history
  • N8350-8356 = Art as a profession
  • NA = Architecture
  • NB = Sculpture
  • NC = Drawing, design, illustration
  • ND = Painting
  • NE = Print media
  • NK = Decorative arts
  • NX = Arts in general
  • TR = Photography (it was put in "technology")
  • TT = Craft (it was put in "technology")
