Below are a couple concise guides for students on copyright and fair use -- the exception to having to seek permission to use copyrighted materials. If the guidelines on what constitutes fair use seem vague, you are correct! It is not as simple as "I'm using it for educational purposes," or "I'm not making money off of it."
