Where are the libraries?

The main library, JFK Library, is located on the Cheney Campus on the Quad.

The Spokane Academic Library is located on the 2nd floor of the Academic Center of the Riverpoint Campus in Spokane.

What are the hours for the libraries?

  • JFK Library: 8 am - 6 pm (Mon.-Fri.)  More information can be found here: https://www.ewu.edu/library/how-to-access-library-resources-during-a-closure/
  • Spokane Academic Library is partially open only to Spokane-based students with prox card access.  Remote assistance and curbside pick-up is still available to everyone.  Curbside pick-up is available Monday through Friday 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. Please call 509.358.7930 for staff assistance.  Full reopening is anticipated by mid-August.  For more information, visit this SAL page.

How can I access databases from off-campus?

Students:

Log in with your NetID username and password. This username/password is the same one that you use to log into campus computers, wireless network, NetStorage, etc. This in not your EagleNET account for class registration. If you have not set your NetID password, go to accounts.ewu.edu.

Faculty / Staff:

Log in using your EWU email username and password.

How can I get a library account to check out stuff?

Your EagleCard is your library card. Just bring it with you to the Circulation Desk, on the Main Level in the JFK Library, and on the 2nd floor at the Spokane Academic Library.

 

How can I view the status of my requested materials?

 

Where can I study? Do you have group study rooms?

The JFK Library has lots of study carrels and tables scattered throughout the building. There are 12 group study rooms. 7 on the lower level, and 5 on the upper level. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis, except the 3 larger rooms (L20, U30, and U34), which can be reserved ahead of time. Where can I leave a comment or suggestion for the library?

To leave comments, questions, suggestions, or complaints visit our Contact page; there is a form at the bottom of the page.

You can also fill out a comment card at the comment boxes in the lobby of JFK Library and Spokane Academic Library. Or fill out a policy review request at the Circulation Desk at the JFK Library.

 

I’m looking for something fun to read. Where’s the fiction section?

Fiction can be found in the P’s on the upper level. If you have a particular author in mind, use the Library Catalog. Also be sure to check out the New Books area on the main level, near the front entrance.

 

I think the library ought to have a copy of a specific book or DVD. How can I suggest a title be purchased?

I think I left something in the library. Where is lost and found?

The JFK Library maintains a lost and found service, located at the Circulation Desk. Contact them at (509) 359-7888 or circulation@ewu.edu. Please be prepared to show your picture ID when you claim lost articles. You will be asked to sign for your claimed article on a log sheet.
