Created in 1916 as the U.S. Tariff Commission, this independent agency "furnishes studies, reports, and recommendations involving international trade and tariffs to the President, the U.S. Trade Representative, and congressional committees, and conducts a variety of investigations pertaining to international trade relief," according to the US Government Manual.

Office responsible for directing all trade negotiations of and formulating trade policy for the United States. Website includes information on U.S. trade agreements, preference programs, and information about agreements with particular regions/countries.
