Google News & NewsGuard

Google News
NewsGuard

A browser extension that evaluates and shares the practices of online news sites, which can help you evaluate any news articles you find interesting through Google News or other search engines.

NewsGuard is free on the Microsoft Edge browser, on other browsers there's a subscription fee.

Go to https://www.newsguardtech.com/edge to set up the extension within Edge.

With NewsGuard installed, you'll see a green, gray, or red icon next to results listed in Google News, or at the top of the page next to the URL when you are on a site that NewsGuard has evaluated. Hover over that icon to see a brief evaluation of how well the site follows journalistic standards.
