The WHY Method research taxonomy (as revised in 2022)This draft, which expands upon Leeder, Markey and Yakel's original taxonomy, and our own modified draft of that taxonomy (both of which were published in the articles linked elsewhere on this guide), contains more of our scope notes and clarifications than the simplified draft in our presentation handout. It also reflects changes in category language that were developed in 2021-2022 for the implementation of the WHY Method in the classroom.
The presentation handouts, available on the Instructional Materials tab, are designed more for use in instruction with students. This document would be more helpful to librarians/instructors attempting to use the taxonomy for assessment/research purposes.
