This course-specific guide features resources that may help you with your final EBP paper.

Within a Database

When you are searching in one of the library databases and the article in question isn't available full text right there, look for this icon Check for Full Text iconor a hyperlink that says EWU - Check for Full Text. Click on the icon or link, and this will bring up a new window that looks similar to this:

example of the results screen for Check for Full Text

  • If the article is available full text online, there will be a link(s) with the name of the database (e.g. ProQuest, JSTOR, etc.). Just click on the link and you will automatically be taken directly to the article, or at least to a list of issues of the periodical.
  • Link to Try searching the EWU Catalog... will appear if the system thinks we have cataloged the periodical. Click on the link to see if we have a print or microfilm copy of the volume/issue you need.
  • If it is not online, nor have we cataloged the periodical, then a link to search the catalog by title appears. (This probably means we do not have it. You may request the article via Interlibrary Loan.)

Find a Specific Journal, Magazine, or Newspaper

If you have a citation for a particular article, such as from a bibliography, search for the article by the name of the journal or magazine, not the name of the article.

EWU Library Catalog Title Search -- Search to see if we have a particular periodical (journal, magazine or newspaper) online, in print or microfilm. Type in the name of the journal, magazine or newspaper in the box labeled in the title ♦ starts with.

  • If we have the title online, it will have a green bullet labeled Online access. Click the link View Online to see a list of databases with date ranges. Click on the name of the database to view the journal.
  • If we have it physically (in print and/or microfilm), it will have a green bullet labeled Available at and the location (call number). Click the link Find in a Library to view the years we have available.

EJournals A-Z -- Alphabetical list of the journals, magazines and newspapers we have online in our databases. It will not show if we have it in print or microfilm in the library.

If we do not have the periodical you are looking for, you may request specific articles via Interlibrary Loan.
