How to use Summit Services

EWU Summit Services

EWU Summit Services:

Summit services provide current EWU faculty, staff, and students’ access to research material not available in the Eastern Washington University Library. Summit services borrow and loan physical materials through the Orbis Cascade Alliance, which is a nonprofit consortium of 38 colleges and universities in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

If you are a current EWU student, faculty or staff person who is either:

  • EWU Distance Education (Located outside the Cheney/Spokane area)
  • EWU-Spokane-based; and/or
  • EWU Online only
  • EWU-Bellevue-based

Before submitting a Summit request, be sure to check our catalog first to double check that we don’t already have a physical copy and/or an eBook available for you to use.

Summit FAQ:

  • Available for current EWU students, staff, and faculty.
  • Requests for item(s) on the EWU shelves can take 1-2 business days. Summit requests can take up to 4-8 business days.
  • Summit materials have a 12-week loan period, with a one-time 6-week renewal option.
  • Textbooks requests are not guaranteed as loanable; the newer they are the harder to provide.
  • All summit items are subject to recall by the lending library.
