How to use Summit Services

Submitting Summit Requests

How to submit an EWU and/or a Summit Request:

  • You can access our library main page here: https://www.ewu.edu/library/ or through the Library link in Canvas, which can be found in the menu on the left side of the Canvas Dashboard.

  • Enter the title you are looking for in the search box…

Be sure you are signed in with your single sign on first if you’re not already

  • Find what you are looking for, click on the title to open

  • Click on either of the request link(s) and fill out the brief form. If it’s an item on our shelves, select the EWU Item first; otherwise, click on the Summit request link.

  • Quick Tip: when requesting an item, give it a few minutes to make sure the request has been submitted; you should see a confirmation message like this…

If you don’t get this message, refresh your screen and give your library account a quick check before trying again. If an issue still persists, contact the Summit Services office at 509-359-2819 or email summit@ewu.edu.

  • A soon as the item is available for pickup, you will receive a notification in your ewu.edu email. Items requested are put on the hold shelf for 7 business days, after that they are returned and you will need to re-request that item. If you are unable to come in within that 7-day time frame, let the Summit Services office know and they may be able to extend that pickup date.

  • If for some reason your request is cancelled (this will sometimes happen if there are no libraries willing to loan the item), within the cancelation notification, you will receive a link to re-request through interlibrary loan.
