How to Renew Your Requested EWU and/or Summit Items
If a renewal is needed, there is an option of submitting a one-time renewal request for another 6 weeks… it is suggested to wait a few days before the actual due date to submit a renewal request; this way you won’t lose any extra checkout time. You can submit a renewal request via your library account: https://www.ewu.edu/library/.
- Click on the Account Log-In tab in the upper right corner of the screen on our library’s main page.
- A pop-up will appear, click the link for EWU student, faculty, and staff.
- Once you have logged-in, go to the upper right corner of the screen… where it says your name and click the drop-down arrow to view your account options.
- Within your library account, you can view the status of your requests and possibly renew your checked out items, as well as keep track of your saved items and search history.
- To renew, click on “My Loans”, find the item you are wanting to renew, click on
- When renewing, it is recommended to wait a few minutes for the system to submit the renewal and be accepted. After a few minutes, refresh your screen and double check your new due date. You should see something that looks like this:
- Some items may not be renewable – this may be because it is too soon to renew and/or it has already been renewed once. You may see something like this:
If you feel this is an error, please contact the Summit Services office.
- If you’re not seeing the item you would like to request in your library account, it may be an interlibrary loan. For renewal details, please check out the ILL FAQ here: https://research.ewu.edu/ill
- Recalled Items - it is rare, but on occasion an item(s) that you have borrowed may be recalled either by us (EWU) or by the lending summit library. If a recall is submitted, the item(s) needs to be returned as soon as possible and another copy can be requested for you. See our policies for details: https://www.ewu.edu/library/request-and-borrow/.
